Tamil Nadu CM Stalin invites Arvind Kejriwal to launch of three educational projects

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to join his Tamil Nadu counterpart, M K Stalin, in launching 26 Schools of Excellence and 15 Model Schools on September 5. The invitation was extended by Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh during his meeting with Kejriwal at his residence. The event will mark the inauguration of Tamil Nadu’s Puthumai Penn Thittam, an innovative project for girls, along with the establishment of these schools.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Kejriwal shared on Twitter, “I thank Thiru @mkstalin for inviting me to visit Tamil Nadu next week. I am elated to join the people of Tamil Nadu in their journey towards an education revolution. We will together be launching 3 crucial projects on September 5.” In a subsequent tweet, he highlighted the parallel between Delhi and Tamil Nadu’s initiatives, stating, “Like Delhi, TN Government is now launching 26 state-of-the-art SOEs. Model schools- 15 schools are being upscaled to offer professional courses.”

The Puthumai Penn Thittam initiative by the Tamil Nadu government aims to provide Rs 1,000 per month as higher education aid to female students, as announced by Kejriwal.

Education Minister Anbil Mahesh shared details of the meeting on Twitter, stating, “Today (30.08.2022), I met hon’ble Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in New Delhi and following the instructions of Hon’ble TN Chief Minister MK Stalin and as the education minister of TN, invited him to participate in the inaugural event organized in Chennai to launch the “Puthumai Penn Thittam,” “26 School of Excellence,” and “15 Model schools.”

Notably, in April, Chief Minister Stalin had visited government schools in Delhi along with Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, emphasizing the need for students and teachers to go beyond textbooks and embrace innovative learning approaches.
